What Is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia covers a range of difficulties which usually covers the areas of reading, writing and spelling - but it is unique for each individual. It often additionally causes problems with memory and organising thoughts - meaning that preparing for exams can be hard. However having dyslexia doesn't mean you can't learn - it just means you need tools to learn differently - and that's what I can help with.

I regularly see children who are struggling with confidence due to finding it so hard to keep up at school. One to one support, time and patience can really help to boost self esteem

At least 1 in 10 people have dyslexia - some statistic even suggest one in 5!

Often people with dyslexia are very creative in areas such as music, drama, art and sports.

Dyslexia can run in families - often a child's parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles have dyslexia

Often children with dyslexia also have issues with auditory processing, phonological processing and visual processing - many children have a combination, but I can help you ascertain whether this might be an issue
